Superb line up for Red Sails Festival

This year’s Portstewart Community Association Red Sails Festival program is the most ambitious yet!

The festival runs from Sunday, July 21 to Saturday July 27.

Boosted by support from The Big Lottery, Coleraine Borough Council, the Public Health Agency, CSWAN, The Causeway Volunteer Centre, The Causeway Neighbourhood Police Team and D.C.A.L., the program this year has a fabulous line up.

Some of the highlights of the festival include a tenth consecutive appearance By Willie Drennan‘s Ulster Folk band, a multicultural showcase, a falcon display, a wrestling Show, a man vs food challenge, a donut challenge, a performance by Ballywillan Drama group, acoustic music sessions at cafes and various Tribute bands (Van Morrison, Elvis, Status Quo and Ska).

Other artists taking part include Anthony Toner, Errol Walsh, Tara Hoy, the Groove Robbers and poet Dan Eggs.

The Red Sails Health Roadshow on Monday 22nd July at 7.00pm in Portstewart Town Hall includes a demonstration by the Portstewart Tai Chi Community and free taster sessions (Indian Head massage. Bodytalk Therapy. Reflexology. Aromatherapy. Podiatry).

The legendary Richard Morrow Hypnotist Show, which takes place in Portstewart Town Hall 8.30pm on Thursday 25th July, also includes guest appearances by past Red Sails Got Talent winners Jamie Moorehead and Anna Brolly.

Tickets for thisare £5 (or £7 at the door). They are available from Maud’s ice-cream and coffee shop on Portstewart Promenade.

The festival will end with the usual spectacular fireworks display at 10.30pm on Saturday 27th July.
