Plant and cake sale

BANBRIDGE and District Horticultural Society will hold its annual plant and cake sale on Thursday May 31 in the Methodist Hall, Downshire Road, starting at 7.30pm.

Society members always donate a wide range of shrubs and bedding plants for the occasion, and their generosity is very much appreciated.

In addition the ladies of the society always bring in a range of cakes, pastries and jams and Banbridge and District Horticultural Society is indebted to them too.

This is a great opportunity for the enthusiastic gardeners in the area to purchase some of the varieties of plants that are grown by local expert gardeners and acclimatise them to outdoor conditions.

The Chairperson, Mrs Lettie Fleming, would like to thank all members of the society for donating these plants which are sold to raise funds for the society.

Members are hoping to see more people taking an interest in their local horticultural society as being a member is brilliant for picking up lots of gardening tips.

Anyone wishing to become a member should contact the secretary, Mr A Fyffe, on 406 22554.
