Directed and choreographed by Leonard Anderson, with Musical Director Colin Loughead, the show will bring to life the fantastic festive show to kick start the Christmas season.

Snow White is a German Fairytale known across much of Europe as the tale of the Brothers Grimm and was published in 1812. The Grimm’s completed their final revision of the story in 1854. Even Banbridge Musical Society doesn’t go back that far, although they are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year.

The tale features such elements as the magic mirror, the poisoned apple and the characters of the evil Queen Lucretia and the seven dwarfs. Who were first given individual names of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in the Broadway production in 1912.

Once upon a time there lived a lovely princess, with fair skin and blue eyes. She was so fair she was named Snow White. Her Mother died when she was a baby and her Father remarried. Her Step-Mother the Queen Lucretia was very pretty but very cruel and wicked. She wanted to be the most beautiful in the Kingdom. She often asked the mirror, “Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” and it would reply, “you are.” But one day the mirror replied “Snow White is the fairest.” O dear!

Will Snow White fall in love with the handsome Prince? Will Queen Lucretia finally get her evil heart’s desire and become the fairest in the land? Will Snow White succumb to the temptation of the rosy red apple or will the dwarfs or Leo the lion intervene and rescue Snow White from a fate worse than death?

The curtain will be raised on ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ on Friday November 15 at 7.30pm.
