The dedication and commitment of housing association and care staff across the ABC borough during the Covid-19 pandemic has been recognised by Lord Mayor Kevin Savage at a Housing Heroes Roadshow.

He met with Ben Collins, Chief Executive of the NI Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA) and a number of housing association and care workers from across the region at the launch of a three-month initiative aimed at raising awareness of the work and contribution made by housing associations and housing staff for the betterment of society across Northern Ireland.

NIFHA represents the region’s twenty housing associations who between them provide over 53,000 quality social and affordable homes alongside world-leading care and support services.

The Lord Mayor Kevin Savage said: “The pandemic has been a difficult time for us all, but one of the positive aspects has been how people have stepped up to help those around them. This includes the housing sector, where so may have gone the extra mile to ensure that important services have been delivered to tenants across our council area. I am delighted to recognise their great work.”
