Glass recycling update

Glass bottles and jars are now accepted in households with a green recycling bin across the ABC borough. Now all households with a green bin can include glass with their recycling materials.

Previously, some residents had to place glass in a caddy inside their green bin and other residents could not include glass at all. However, the council has now enabled residents to place glass bottles and jars directly into their green recycling bin. Lord Mayor for ABC, Cr Mealla Campbell said: “I am delighted to announce this positive change for recycling glass and I know residents will very much welcome the change.”

Non-recyclable glass including window pane glass, mirrors, light bulbs, ceramics or crockery including cups and drinking glasses must not be placed in green household recycling bins.
