Evie plans floral fundraiser in Garvagh
Evie is having a bulb-planting day at the entrance to Rectory Park in Garvagh on Saturday, November 28, 1pm - 4pm and is hoping that people will donate generously to Macmillan by sponsoring bulbs in the display.
Both of Evie’s parents were diagnosed with cancer this year and she wanted to give something back to the charity which has supported her family through a challenging time.

Hide AdEvie said: “I was keen to do something positive that would have a long-lasting impact in the town and give people something special to look forward to as we move from winter into spring. It’s a difficult time to fundraise and charities like Macmillan need our help more than ever so that they can provide much-needed support for others as they have done for us.
“Bright, beautiful flowers always bring a smile and I’m grateful to John Armstrong and Andy McClarty who have very kindly donated the daffodil and crocus bulbs. Andy has been fundraising for Macmillan for many years and has been a great help and inspiration when I was thinking about ways to support the charity.
“It couldn’t be simpler for people to get involved in our bulb-planting day! They can join us on November 28 to plant their own bulbs or make a donation in advance and we will have volunteers on hand to plant on their behalf. We will of course be working within government guidelines relating to Covid-19.”
Tania Bailie, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in NI said: “98% of Macmillan’s income is from donations and fundraising activities like Evie’s. A huge thank you to Evie for the energy and enthusiasm she has put into her plans. Please support her in whatever way you can.”
