Coronavirus: How many people in your council area have got Covid-19?

The Department of Health has revealed that 3,623 people across Northern Ireland have tested positive for Coronavirus so far.

The figures, as of Friday evening, showed that 23,381 people in total so far have been tested, with 19,744 found to be clear of the virus. Fourteen people had indeterminate test results.

The latest breakdown of individuals with a laboratory confirmed Coronavirus test by local government district is as follows;-

• In Antrim and Newtownabbey 285 people were found to have the virus out of the 1,664 tested

• Ards and North Down 217 out of 2,066

• Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon 368 out of 2,566

• Belfast 1,138 out of 5,674

• Causeway Coasts and Glens 152 out of 1,115

• Derry City and Strabane 147 out of 1,378

• Fermanagh and Omagh 68 out of 836

• Lisburn and Castlereagh 355 out of 2,135

• Mid and East Antrim 235 out of 1,339

• Mid Ulster 144 out of 1,210

• Newry Mourne and Down 221 out of 1,902

A further 1,496 people were tested who gave insufficient address and postcode details. Of them 292 tested positive.

Meanwhile, First Minister Arlene Foster has described the medical case for using face coverings in public during the Coronavirus epidemic as “pretty weak”. But she said they could potentially provide added reassurance to people venturing out when restrictions on movement being to ease.

Mrs Foster and Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill said the executive is due to hold further discussions on whether they should issue an official advisory notice on the use of face coverings but that healthcare grade masks should be reserved for frontline workers.
