Students commended on top results

Students have been commended on their top-class exam results.

Upper Bann MLA and Assembly Education Committee Member Jo-Anne Dobson congratulated Northern Ireland’s A and AS Level students on achieving an overall pass rate of 98.1 per cent.

Almost 33,000 students from Northern Ireland received their results last Thursday.

“These results are the end product of years of hard work and dedication to study and I congratulate them, their teachers and families. Once again our students have received top class results,” said Mrs Dobson.

“Statistics released from the awarding body CCEA show that Northern Ireland Students are increasingly choosing A Levels with yet another record high of 32,908 entries this year.

“I send my best wishes to every student receiving their results. I wish them every success in their future endeavours, whether they choose to undertake further study or to go into the world of work.”
