Stormont trip for High School pupils

UPPER Bann DUP MLA Sydney Anderson recently welcomed a group of politics and citizenship students from Banbridge High School to the NI Assembly.

“This was a great opportunity to meet up with local Banbridge High School students as part of their visit to the NI Assembly,” the MLA said after meeting with the group.

“During their tour the group of third year students met with members of the NI Assembly Education Committee. There was also an opportunity for an interactive session where they got the chance to find out more about the work of the Assembly and the role and work of MLAs.

“Banbridge High School has a very well earned reputation for encouraging young people to take an active interest and to be involved in the democratic process and civic life. A tremendous amount of work is put in by the school teaching staff to encourage young people to become interested in how decisions made by statutory bodies impact upon them day by day.

“I was delighted to be able to spend some time with them and would encourage them to continue with their interest as they enter into the workplace and adult life.”
