P5 pupils are sun safe kids

Pupils from schools across the city have been signing up for safe fun in the sun, through the Cancer Focus Northern Ireland Sun Scientist project.

Participating in the venture are P5 pupils from Mullaghbuoy Primary,St Brigids and St Patrick’s Primaries, Drumahoe Primary; Gaelscoil Eadain Mhor at the Brandywell, Longtower, Broadbridge, and Cumber Claudy Primaries as well as, St Therese’s (Lenamore), Ebrington Primary and St Mary’s in Claudy.

They are among 167 primary schools that have received Sun Scientist packs as part of their Health Education Package.

Sun Scientist links in with the CEA’s Key Stage 2 Northern Ireland Curriculum - Personal Understanding and Health. It develops a pro-active and responsible approach to safety in the sun, and is an excellent teaching tool for teachers.
