The Year 13 student was one five boys and five girls selected from hundreds who auditioned across the UK.

She attended a mentoring session with Katherine Jenkins in London where she received tips for her performance for the semi-final and final, which were all filmed back in September at the Monastery in Manchester when Leah performed in front of a panel of talented musicians including Aled Jones.

A spokesperson for Banbridge Academy said: “As a school community, we offer our congratulations to Leah for reaching the finals of this prestigious competition – what an amazing experience – and we look forward to watching the performances on December 6 on BBC 1.”
