GCSE pupils obtain healthy food awards

YEAR 12 pupils at New-Bridge Integrated College studying GCSE Home Economics have recently obtained the Level Two award In Healthier Food and Special Diets from the Chartered Institute Of Environmental Health.

The benefits of a healthy and varied diet are indisputable. This qualification has been designed to provide a good, basic understanding of nutrition.

All employees in catering environments are involved in the selection of menus, recipes and ingredients. It is also relevant for those in the health care and education sectors.

Finally the Award helps pupils to understand the link between diet and health.
