Call for retirement package for farmers
COUNCILLOR David Herron has called for the Stormont Assembly to revisit historic proposals for some sort of “retirement package” for farmers .
The Knockiveagh and former Dromore councillor said the assembly should be looking into provision of some sort that would support farmers in retirement.
“The Assembly needs to look at a retirement package for farmers, some sort of support that would allow them to live comfortably while passing on the farm to a son or to someone else,” he said.
