Windsor Bakery closes two of its shops

The Windsor Bakery has closed two of its shops following a restructuring of the business in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The bakery confirmed the closure of its Lurgan and Lisburn stores in a Facebook post.

In their statement the bakery said the business will now be “operated solely from our Banbridge store and bakery” based at Newry Street in Banbridge

The owners said: “In March 2020 we took the unprecedented decision to close both our Lurgan and Lisburn stores due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This was intended to be a temporary closure to enable us to learn how to live and work through this pandemic.

“With the safety of both our employees and customers as our top priority we entered into a company restructure. Our aim was to create a safe working and shopping environment for everyone.

“It is with this in mind we have made the decision to permanently close both our Lurgan and Lisburn stores.”

They said the business would now operate solely from the Banbridge store at Newry Street and added: “We would like to thank all our customers in the Lurgan and Lisburn areas for all their support over the many years. Many of you have travelled to our Banbridge store and it has been lovely to meet you all.”

The announcement comes hot on the heels of the closure of the One-Eighty Restaurant in Portadown, also announced yesterday (Wednesday, August 5) - read more on that story here.
