Council’s funding fair for groups

REPRESENTATIVES of local community and voluntary groups are invited to attend a funding fair in Banbridge Enterprise Centre, Scarva Road on Thursday 10 February at 7pm.

The event, which has been organised by Banbridge District Council in partnership with Community Network Craigavon, is designed to give local community and voluntary groups the opportunity to learn more about the funding that is available in the current economic climate.

Speaking about the funding fair, Council Community Development Officer Robert Stockley said: “We are delighted that some high-profile funding bodies in Northern Ireland have signed up to provide information and advice at the event, including the Big Lottery Fund, Awards for All, Children in Need, Arts Council, Down Rural Area Partnership and UnLtd.”

He continued: “Groups will also find out about the funding available from the Council and others. These bodies have significant amounts of money available to support a wide range of community projects, and we want to see groups from the district benefiting from this.”

Each funder will give a short presentation on their respective grant programmes. Following this, groups will be able to discuss potential projects with a funder on a one-to-one basis.
