Call for town recovery plan
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has called for the NI Executive and Councils to use the current period of lockdown to engage with businesses and put together a comprehensive plan for town centre recovery.
She said: “We do need to be preparing a kickstart programme for our town centres. This work should be undertaken now, in full consultation with local business owners. Westminster, Stormont and local Councils need to work collaboratively to ensure that when restrictions are eased, we have the strategy in place to hit the ground running. We must see a proactive approach, not reactive.
“I will continue to press Government and the Executive for a comprehensive strategy.”
