Special gig to celebrate new release

Along with his band he will celebrate this new vinyl release at an exclusive headline performance at the Empire Music Hall on Wednesday 5 December; tickets are on-sale now from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

The new record, Step Inside, is again produced by Grammy award winner Brent Maher. As with the previous EP, The Devil Mocks Me, Gareth has been involved in all phases of the recording process, co-producing with Maher, engineering and mixing – skills he has mastered via his own recording studios in Holywood, County Down.

The EP contains five brand new songs and Fool’s Desire as a bonus track. The lead track, Wicked Game, features the legendary Kim Carnes (Betty Davis Eyes) on guest vocals.

Gareth has recently returned from shows in the U.S. including the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC along with performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Nashville.

The summer months have also been busy with highlights including: Belsonic with James Morrison and sharing the bill with Van Morrison at the East Belfast Arts Festival. Gareth is about to embark on an extensive UK tour with Belfast blues guitarist Simon McBride.

Gareth has started co-writing and one of the first sessions was with superstar John Oates, who said this about Gareth’s talents.

“On my first visit to Belfast Ireland I was asked to perform ‘in the round’ at a beautiful old church. On my left was a young man named Gareth Dunlop...as he played his first song Gareth transformed himself musically and the sound of his guitar and voice became ageless... he drew me into his experience and somehow I felt that I truly knew him through his songs.

“That’s all I needed to know... having had the chance to write with him confirmed my instincts. He’s the real deal.”

Over the last year, more of Gareth’s songs have been featured in American television shows and a national ad campaigns. Trick of the Moonlight (from Gareth’s last EP) appeared the final season of HOUSE with additional songs in One Tree Hill, Make it Or Break It and Army Wives. Gareth’s new song, Going Somewhere, is currently airing in the new Subaru US television campaign.
