A song and dance for Ballyvally Archers

THE Auditorium at the Belmont Hotel in Banbridge will be the setting for a unique dramatic performance next Monday as part of Comment-8, a project funded by Legacy Trust UK, managed by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and co-ordinated by the Verbal Arts Centre.

Comment-8 has commissioned three original works of music, literature and art, inspired by sports commentary and its passion. “How The Arrow Flies” is one of these commissions, collaboratively developed by writers, composers and Ballyvally Archery Club.

“How the Arrow Flies” focuses on a young boy’s rise to Olympic stardom. Archie Archer is legally blind but is determined not to let this stand in the way of his attempts to become a champion archer. Will he achieve his dreams or will he succumb to his father’s aspirations for him and become an electrician?
