New vase for Artana WI as annual dinner is held

Cassandra, on behalf of the Sloan family, presented a beautiful vase to the WI in memory of the late Mrs Moira Sloan.

Mr Somerville, who is the fifth generation to farm the family farm gave a most interesting talk and power-point presentation on his travels through the Nuffield Scholarship to study the dairy industry in different countries throughout the world.

Competition for the prettiest Christmas card depicting a farm animal was won by Mrs Hilda Graham, after a lovely supper the meeting was closed with the singing of A Countrywoman’s song.

The annual dinner was held in February at the Rockmount Golf Club. President Myrtle Meeke extended a warm welcome to all present on a very wintery night, a delicious meal was enjoyed by all. Mrs Ena McNeill was the birthday girl.
