Krista Detor at the Bronte Music Club

The Bronte Music Club will play host to California born artist Krista Detor, as she makes a welcome return on Sunday November 10.

Prolific as both a songwriter and performer, Krista began recording in the early years of the new millennium and was soon being championed by her peers as one of the most promising artists to emerge from the American singer-songwriter scene. At this time, she inexplicably found herself in Bloomington and fell in love with the rolling green hills of Southern Indiana.

It was all uphill from there and the momentum hasn’t stopped. An enormously talented musician, Krista still lives and records in Bloomington with her musical partner David Weber and a whole barnyard full of children and animals.

Musical styles and influences abound in her writing and she displays a versatility that is hard to categorise. A poetic and sought after lyricist, Krista’s songs are vignettes, telling stories of time and experience.

Her quiet musical intensity has been compared to that of Leonard Cohen. She’s more than humbled by the comparison – but tends to shy away from discussion of inspiration and influence.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Krista play live at the Rathfriland venue on Sunday November 10. Tickets priced at £15.00 are available from the F E McWilliam Gallery, Newry Road, Banbridge on 4062 3322. Doors open at 8.30pm for 9.00pm show.
