Kimmie Rhodes to perform at the Bronte Music Club

Kimmie Rhodes is set to perform at The Bronte Music Club, Rathfriland on Tuesday March 24.

Labeling the sound she hoped to create Cowgirl Boudoir, Kimmie Rhodes has embarked on a retro-cowgirl-hippie-chick musical experiment with fellow collaborators – the quirky cool guest artist Johnny Goudie and producer Gabriel Rhodes – writing & singing songs that fuse traditional country sounds with influences from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s into a
seamless blend.

As an artist having grown up attending musical
theatre classes as a child, survived teen-hood on the streets of Lubbock, Texas during the Dylan and British Invasion era, made the pilgrimage ‘back to the country’ in the great Austin convergence of the 70’s, received a degree in fun from Jack Clements ‘Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa’ and finally passed ‘What Would Willie (Nelson) Do 101’ with flying colours as his protégé and duet partner - she has found
her sound.

Recorded at Sunbird Studios in Spicewood, Texas, Rhodes’ beloved Sunbird Studios House Band delivers a mélange of steel guitar, dobro, ukulele, mandolin, electric sitar, B3 organ and percussions that underscore this edgy autobiography with cowpunkadelical perfection.

Dedicated to Cowboy Jack Clement who taught me the power of believing in magic and that: “we are in the fun business so if we we’re not having fun, we’re not doing our job.”
