Dunluce Castle Community Involvement Day

“Dunluce Castle has been in the care of the Government for many years, but the new emphasis is in realising the economic and social value of the site whilst complimenting the protection and conservation of Dunluce.”

NIEA (Northern Ireland Environment Agency) are looking at changing their approach to sites like Dunluce Castle and are considering ways through partnership with local communities.

Cllr Hunter also stated that local neighbourhood involvement aids the people on the doorstep of the site to feel a part of the project and more strongly value their heritage site of Dunluce Castle.

Cllr Sandra Hunter went on to say, “It is vital that locals get behind and have a strong voice on projects like this at the early stage to understand what is happening and realise that their involvement, no matter how small, will make a real difference so please get in contact with NIEA if you would like to contribute to these ambitious development proposals.”
