Big T minus 10 and counting

ONLY 10 days remain until the launch of Donaghcloney Elim Church’s ‘Big Tent Event’ in the grounds of Donaghcloney Primary School.

Taking place during the last weekend of this month, the three-day event will include a family fun day, live music, interviews with sports personalities,and what a spokesperson called “thought-provoking talks and testimonies and fellowship with friends old and new”.

Admission and activities are free of charge and organisers are hailing it an event for the whole family, with a warm welcome extended to everyone.

Friday, July 27, will see the event kick off at 7.30pm with music by ‘Inflame’ and Donaghcloney Elim’s own Gary Anderson.

The speaker will be former Northern Ireland footballer, Pastor Stuart Elliott. There will also be interviews with Andrew Ferguson of Lisburn Distillery FC and Waringstown cricketer, Glen Addicott, from South Africa.

The Family Fun Day, beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, July 28, is being promoted as having something for everyone to enjoy, with admission and all activities free of charge.

Five- time Irish Downhill Mountain Bike champion, Colin ‘Rosco’ Ross will stage a stunt display and there will be a PSNI dog-handling display, birds of prey display and handling team and the Ulster Military Vehicles Club, as well as pony rides, a bouncy castle and assault run, a climbing wall, soccer training and competitions with Athletes in Action, a group of Christian sportsmen and women, puppet shows throughout the afternoon, stalls, refreshments and more.

There will also be an evening service at 7.30pm, with music by ‘Soulfire Worship’; speakers include Ulster Rugby scrum-half Paul Marshall and Pastor Ken Davidson of Donaghcloney Elim.

The final evening will get underway at 6.30pm on Sunday, July 29, featuring music from Gospel harmony trio, ‘Revelation’ as well as Donaghcloney Elim praise band. Speakers will be Roy Walker, former manager of Ballymena United and Glenavon Football Club, and again, Pastor Davidson.

After the service in the big tent, which will accommodate 1,000 people, there will be a special healing service at 8.30pm. Pastor Ken Davidson will be speaking and Paul Robinson will be giving his testimony of healing from cancer. Music will be by Gary Anderson and Pamela Robinson.
