Red Hot Chilli Piper set to top the bill

The members of Drumlough Pipe Band are finalising arrangements for their forthcoming Champions Concert in Rathfriland High School on Saturday 24th October.

Topping the bill is Craig Munro, one of the world famous Red Hot Chilli Pipers and proprietor of Wallace Bagpipes, Glasgow.

The evening is set to to be one of the biggest, showcasing Northern Ireland’s top musicians and premier bands, ever to come to Rathfriland. Other bands and musicians taking part are 1st Association Old Boys Brass Band, Omagh Protestant Boys Melody Flute Band, Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band (current Grade 4A World Champions), piper Grahame Harris and a contribution from Drumlough Pipe Band also. Joe Graham from Irvinestown, County Fermangh will Compere the evening.

Pipe Major Mervyn McDowell said, “we are very excited about this forthcoming concert. We believe the line up is a first for Rathfriland. To be able to bring professional musicians from Scotland and Northern Ireland together on one stage is quite an achievement. So, if you are a fan of the big band sound, you can’t miss out on this once in a lifetime musical extravaganza on your doorstep.”
