Aer Lingus has announced its winter schedule for 2008/09 with three new routes to Munich, Milan (Malpensa) and Lanzarote giving customers greater access to Europe from Belfast International Airport.
The airline, which began services from Northern Ireland in December last year, reached its quarter of a millionth booking, with lucky winner Ms Julie Bradley who received two return flights to anywhere on the airline's network from Belfast and was on hand to launch the winter destinations.
Ms Bradley, who works for Mivan, Co Antrim had booked a flight to London Heathrow and now has a great choice of popular routes to choose from as her prize.
Along with the new routes, greater frequency has also been added with an additional flight every week to Malaga, giving passengers a choice of five days on which to fly to this popular winter sun destination.
The other destinations making up the winter timetable are London Heathrow (three times daily), Paris (daily), Amsterdam (daily), Rome (four days weekly) and Barcelona (four days weekly). Flights to Munich and Milan will operate on three days a week (and can be booked from Monday, May 12) and Lanzarote on two days a week. It's available for booking right now at aerlingus.com.
Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director, Enda Corneille, said; "We are delighted to be able to offer three new routes on our network out of Belfast, two of which are available for the first time to passengers in Northern Ireland.
We believe the new choice of destinations will prove very popular with our customers with great city breaks to Munich and Milan and of course Lanzarote is a much-loved winter sun destination.
"We are confident that the choice of routes, combined with our low fares and high service values, will be a winner with the Northern Ireland travelling public and we're delighted to have our quarter of a millionth booked passenger on hand to make the announcement. We are well on our way to notching up our target of 500,000 passengers in our first year of operation."
