WILKINSON RACE TAKES PLACE
THE tenth annual Helen Wilkinson Memorial race took place recently in ideal weather conditions at Dromore Leisure Centre.
Athletics coach Michael McGreevy organised the races.
In the junior reace over a distance of one lap Ashley Woodward finished in a commanding first place with Timothy McCracken second and Adam McDonnell third.
The memorial race was run very competitively over a distance of four laps in record breaking time. Ryan McDermott proved his fitness by winning first place for the second year in succession. He was followed by Brian McKee and Simon Thompson in second and third respectively.
Well done to all the runners.
After the race refreshments were served and the trophies presented by John and Cynthia Wilkinson.
Thanks were expressed to Michael for his dedication in organising the races, all the athletes who took part and to the courteous staff of Dromore Leisure Centre who provided the facilities.
