Verdun is the top scorer in the MUSA at Killymoon

THE seventh round of the Mid-Ulster Senior Alliance was played at Killymoon Golf Club last Tuesday.

The County Tyrone course was in excellent condition but the greens were lightning fast. The Banbridge team found them very difficult to read. That reflected on the scores.

The four counting scores for Banbridge came from Verdun Bond (33 points), Jack Bickerstaff, team captain, (31 points), Andy Murphy (31 points) and Joe E. Hamilton (31) points.

That gave Banbridge a team total of 126 points, which was a trifle less than expected.

The other four players at Killymoon were Jim Ledlie, John Parkes, Gerry Blevins and Bertie Shaw.

There are four rounds left to play. Round eight is at Omagh on August 9, round nine is at Spa on August 23, round 10 is at Tandragee (date unknown) and the grand finale is at Lisburn on October 7.

Banbridge need a strong finish in order to avoid relegation (only joking).
