The Banbridge Academy U14’s faced Kilkeel High School U14’s on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

The Under 14’s took the lead immediately after push-back with Mark Barlow going on an amazing run which was finished cooly into the bottom corner after about 10 seconds.

The second of the afternoon came when Barlow made another great run before passing the ball to Lewis Groves who deflected the into the backboard to the delight of the rest of the U14 team. The third goal came through Phillip Campbell when the ball ping-ponged inside the ‘D’ which fell to him nicely to finish into the bottom corner.

The forth goal came midway through the first half with Lewis Groves finding himself one on one with the tall Kilkeel keeper but kept his cool and smashed the ball brilliantly high past the keepers left shoulder for his second goal of a brilliant debut for the U14’s. The fifth goal of the day ended a brilliant first half performance with a superb passing move finishing with Luke McConnell who deflected the ball past the keepers near post to end an amazing first half for the U14’s.

Kilkeel got one goal back midway through the second half when they played the ball through a new-look eleven which was passed past Dale.

The U14 side finished the day when Josh McAdam played the ball though perfectly to Ross Scott who finished the ball extremely cooly into the bottom left corner to great celebrations from the sidelines as it was Scott’s first ever goal for the Academy.
