U17s come back twice to beat Newry

Town Juniors U17s continued their impressive league run with a 3-2 victory over Newry City.

Banbridge began strongly as Adam Dennison saw his long range shot go just over the bar.

Decky Loy also went close when he latched on to a ball from David Gray but his shot was well saved.

After 25 minutes Newry went one up with a close range shot which gave keeper Kalam Farrell no chance. Banbridge bounced back immediately when Adam Maginniss scored with a neat chip over the keeper’s head.

Newry went ahead again early in the second half with a close range header but Banbridge kept up the pressure. From a free-kick at the edge of the box Adam Maginniss played a lovely chip over the wall to Josh Cargin who hit an over head kick which dipped into the far corner of the net.

With Banbridge now in the driving seat, Adam Dennison played a great ball through to David Gray who calmly slotted the ball past the advancing keeper for the winner.
