Meanwhile six of Bann’s young players were involved for Ulster at the Interpros at the weekend.

Hugh McShane, Owen Magee, Josh Moffett, Peter Brown and Matthew Bell were in a squad captained by Stephen Dowds.

The locals won their opening game 4-1 against the Irish U18s with Moffett scoring the fourth with his trademark sliding revere deflection into the net. It was the best move of the game with Dowds and Allister linking superbly down the right flank before squaring for Moffett at full length on the dive at the back post.

They then smashed Munster U21s 9-1 with Dowds grabbing the headlines, scoring four goals with Moffatt grabbing the eighth.

Their final game ended in a disappointing 3-2 loss to Leinster.
