ON Saturday the Swift Reserves travelled to Kernan Playing fields wanting to gather three points on the road to keep their good league form going.
An attacking minded team made the trip to Craigavon, and from the first minute Rathfriland moved the ball well from defence to attack in search for the opening goal.
Midway through the first half excellent interplay through midfield allowed Rathfriland right winger to run clear onto goal, the finish was a clinical one, drilled low past the keeper.
From here the visitors took control of the game and doubled their lead shortly before half-time when good movement resulted in a goal chance which was emphatically converted.
Rathfriland came out in the second half wanting to extend their lead and a delightful chip from Hillen completed an excellent passing move to make it three.
From the restart Rathfriland took advantage of some weak defending to make it two goals in two minutes, Power converting from a wide cross, leaving the keeper with no chance.
As the second half headed towards the final whistle Parsons broke through to make it a five star performance, rounding the Blackers Mill goalkeeper and finishing well.
In truth Rathfriland could have converted more, however the style of play and the number of chances being created is good to see.
The Swifts Reserves are building real momentum in the league and with two home fixtures to come next they will be wanting to extend their unbeaten home record.
