THURSDAY 8TH NOVEMBER - Albert Porter hit the headlines in May/June when he won the Thursday Open Stableford on two occasions. He has been rather quiet since then but it looks like he’s back in form again.

1st, Albert Porter (26) 35 points; 2nd, Sam Wilkinson (24) 33 points.

Philip Mallon, winner of the low section in the Pro Shop Saturday Sweep.

SATURDAY 10TH NOVEMBER - All these winning scores look good but a certain member would have beaten them all if he could have avoided disqualification. He had 38 points but overlooked getting his card signed or signing it himself. Why do so many players do this? And with a scorecard as good as that, it’s criminal.

SECTION 0-9: 1st, Philip Mallon (9) 35 points; 2nd, Matthew Mallon (6) 35 points.

SECTION 10-18: 1st, Ian McGowan (14) 36 points; 2nd, Jim Cochrane (11) 36 points.

SECTION 19+.: 1st, Gerry Blevins (20) 34 points; 2nd, Adrian Barry (20) 33 points.

SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER: How many people know the lowest score in the Sunday Sweep this year and who shot it? The answer is Kieran McGreevey who won on February 12th with a nett 26.5.

He scored 5 shots higher on this Sunday and he still won.

1st. Kieran McGreevey (21) Nett 31.5; 2nd, Alex Clarke (14) Nett 33; 3rd, Danny O’Boyle (13) Nett 33.5.

THURSDAY 15TH NOVEMBER: Bertie Shaw is one of the most consistent players in the club and it comes as a surprise to learn that this is his first victory in a sweep this season.

Dougie Stevenson had the only 2 on the day and that pleased him no end.
