Banbridge Ladies Thirds lost out 4-3 to Ards Fours last Saturday in a Plate match at Havelock Park.

Banbridge started well with Melissa Whan scoring early in the first half and causing Ards defence all sorts of problems.

Ards hit the ground running in the second and quickly equalised. In a nip and tuck encounter, Banbridge took the lead from a short corner with Punam McGookin expertly finishing. The tide turned with Ards equalising again and showing a new found confidence with the score at 2-2.

Despite hard work and valiant effort from the defence, Ards bagged a further two goals. Banbridge forwards Jayne Walker and Sarah Anderson refused to back down with Anderson scoring a goal to make the final score 4-3 to Ards.

The Thirds now face a big game against league leaders Rainey away this weekend.
