Seapatrick claim back to back wins

IN this hard fought Intermediate A fixture the Village scored in the first minute of the first half when Kieran Maguire put a through ball through to Darren McGrath who took the ball around a couple of Fivemiletown defenders, slotting the ball into the net.

After that Seapatrick had another chance on goal through Keith McVitty but it was blown up by the referee on this occasion for offside.

The home team then had chances but could not make them count. Seapatrick then had a penalty shout turned down by the referee as Darren McGrath and Keith McVitty continued to press on for another goal.

Fivemiletown then equalised 25 minutes into the game but it was a questionable decision to let the goal stand after it appeared the Seapatrick goalkeeper was fouled.

After the Fivemiletown goal, Seapatrick kicked into gear and were rewarded with a free kick just outside the opposition’s area that Damien McParland hit with force to force a great save from the home team goalie.

After a back and forward 10 minutes at the end of the first half, with both teams having chances, it remained all square.

In the first couple of minutes of the second half, Kieran Maguire made a great save to keep the scores equal. Seapatrick were awarded with a throw in on the 55th minute that Keith McVitty took early to Darren McGrath who turned the Fivemiletown defence well and slotted it home to score his second goal of the game.

The Village were under pressure after the goal with several corners and free kicks from Fivemiletown but they could not make it count.

After the home team’s pressure Seapatrick pushed on for another goal but could not come up with anything.

Fivemiletown got another equaliser from a mistake in the Village defence on the 70th minute.

After the home team scored, the Village put pressure on the home team goal to try and get the winning goal.

With this came another great run from Darren McGrath who picked the ball up on the right hand side of the pitch and when went through the home team defence like a knife through butter and coolly slotted the ball home to score his third and winning goal of the afternoon on the 80th minute.

After this, the Village played smart and played as much of the football in the Fivemiletown half for the last 10 minutes.

With these back-to-back Intermediate A wins the Village have climbed up the league table and with this belief and determination building in the team nothing is impossible.
