Russell is too strong for Jenson Button

The streets of Athy, Co. Kildare were buzzing at the weekend with over 2,000 triathlete’s enlisted to race at some stage in the weekend long TriaAthy event.

One of the biggest wins of his triathlon career to date fell to Banbridge CC’s Irish Triathlon squad member Russell White in the Olympic distance race on the first dayof the weekend long event.

Competing against a host of international stars, including F1 driver Jenson Button, Russell emerged first from the water and held his advantage throughout the gruelling cycling and running stages to record a famous victory.
