Ladies Day at the Golf Club

AFTER all the excitement of Lady Captain’s Day the ladies were back to competitions on Tuesday with another of the majors of the season.

This time it was the Kathleen Orr Perpetual Salver.

Unfortunately numbers of ladies competing were lower than usual due to the weather conditions, however for Carole Quinn was not complaining as she emerged as overall winner of the Salver . She showed some terrific play in very poor conditions.

Full list of winners: - Overall winner: Carole Quinn; Section A: Sheelagh English; Section B: Lorna McKinstry; Section C: Helen Sawyers, one of the club’s up and coming juvenile players.

CSS for the day was 72 reduction only.

One lucky lady, Lorna McKinstry, had a two.

Golfer of the Year points were awarded as follows: 6, Carole Quinn; 5, Lorna McKinstry; 4, Mary Dooher; 3, Helen Sawyers; 2, Sheelagh English; 1, Anne Connolly.

Next Tuesday, August 14 is Lady President’s day and everyone wishes Marianne all the very best for her day.
