The U15s faced Ridgeway in the Shield on Saturday morning and were hit with five goals in a well below par performance.
The Juniors took an early lead after only 10 minutes. A clever move down the right wing from Mark Bourke resulted in a curling strike from Cormac Downey to make it 1-0.
However, five minutes after going ahead they conceeded their first when Ridgeway found their way through the Banbridge defence and a quick one-two resulted in an equaliser. This goal gave Ridgeway encouragement and they used it to their full advantage as they scored a second 10 minutes later to go 2-1 up at the break.
The long balls over the top proved clinical for Ridgeway’s tall, sharp strikers and in a matter of minutes the Town found themselves 4-1 down. An intelligent ball from the Ridgeway skipper found their striker who sweetly caught it on the half-volley and found the back of the net for their fifth.
