Tullylish get some breathing space at top of the table

Tullylish 1-7 Clann na Derg 0-3

Tullylish U12’s put daylight between themselves and local rivals Clann na Derg at the top of the table after an enthralling contest at Pairc Na nOg last Sunday morning.

Played in sweltering conditions both teams put their bodies on the line but it was the home side than ran out eventual winners.

The Tullylish midfield duo of Conor Molloy and Ordhan Connolly was the difference in the first half with Molloy kicking a superb 1-4 from play and Connolly winning almost every breaking ball.

Molloy’s first score came after just three minutes, followed by an excellent point from Ben McNally.

Conor Molloy added two more shortly after - one of them an exceptional effort from distance and Ordhan Connolly put five between the sides when he scored a point from a free.

Any Clann na Derg attacks were well marshalled by Jamie Feeney, Ben McNally, James Fegan and Danny McCartan.

Tullylish stretched their lead when Conor Molloy hit the back of the net.

The visitors never really recovered from this goal but they did register their first point of the game a minute later only for Tullylish to reply with a well taken point from an accute angle from half-forward Shea Winters after a good one - two with Stephen Doran. Clann na Derg scored two points in the second period.

Tullylish ran out comfortable winners and each player deserves credit for this moral boosting victory that leaves them two points clear.
