Davy Copeland, Conor McCartan and DJ Wilson took on Dessie Fiddis, Rodney Fiddis and Billy Johnston from Ulster Transport, last year’s beaten finalists.
In the early stages the game was nip and tuck as second Conor was in top form, however there was little to separate the sides at 6-6 after 8 ends. The Transport trio found their form and started to apply pressure lying three shots on the next two ends, only for DJ to produce his best two ends of the game to cut down to one shot on end 13. Scores of 2,1,1 from ends 15-17 resulted in a 4 shot lead going into the last end and again, the locals stayed calm.
They simply left their opposition no chance of scoring four or more shots and a hard earned victory was complete.
