results from around the Banbridge course

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 1 - Kenny Arlow became the 25th different winner of the Sunday Sweep this year so far. Last year’s record of 37 different winners would seem to be out of reach.

1st, Kenny Arlow (14) Nett 31.

2nd, Paul Wylie (11) Nett 31.5.

3rd, Gerry Blevins (19) Nett 31.5.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 2 - Kieran Doherty is a new member and he seems to be rather proficient at the game of golf. He won’t be playing off a 28 handicap for much longer if he continues in this vein.1st, Kieran Doherty (28) 34 points.2nd, Garreth Moody (7) 28 points.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5 - Hugo Downey had a brilliant round in this Open Stableford. Helped by birdies at the 7th and 14th holes, Hugo went round in 71 shots, just two over par gross. He won the competition by 3 points.

Paul McCullough is having a fantastic season. He had a great chance here but came unstuck at the 5th and 8th holes where he had triple bogeys.

Former member, Gerard Morgan, returned for a game around Banbridge accompanied by his talented son, Christopher. Gerard played a steady game but his son was on top form. Christopher recovered from a double bogey 7 at the 2nd hole to win the best gross prize with a 73.

Brendan McConville (14) and Tom Mulholland (10) came close with 38 points each.1st, Hugo Downey (8) 42 points; 2nd, Paul McCullough (12) 39 points; 3rd, Dermot Magee (19) 39 points.
