Seconds struggle to victory

Donaghcloney’s Seconds struggled to a win despite putting in their worst performance of the season so far on Saturday.

Winning the toss and choosing to field first against a side rooted to the bottom of the league they allowed Cooke to put on 200 in 40 overs. However after tea the batsman made up for the bowlers bad day at the office.

Opener Stevie Lyttle put on 41, with son Richard hitting a well timed 50 not out, and throughout their innings assisted by Scott Armstrong (25), Gareth Copeland (22), Rory Woods (26) and Paul Lyttle brought the innings home with a not out 11 saw the villagers over the line by five wickets and jump to third in the league this season.
