Banbridge High School’s Olivia Mehaffey has been knocked out in the last 32 of the Ladies British Amateur Championships.

She was the last standing Irish girl after her two and one win over Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom at Royal St George’s. Castleroy’s Chloe Ryan was beaten by French girl Lauralie Migneaux in the last 16.

However, Olivia couldn’t see off Antonia Scherer this evening. She was beaten four and three by the German who was one of only seven players to fire in a below par total in qualifying.

The British Amateur Championships is one of the top prize in ladies amateur golf.
