Railway 4 Higgins B 4
Stormin’ Norman Cardwell teaches the Murphy clan a lesson defeating elder brother Gary and their doubles pairing in one night. After going 3-1 up through D Paxton J McGivern and D Murphy, Railway looked home in a boat.
However, superstar signing B Doherty, fresh from his international exploits at the home nations in Edinburgh, pulled Higgins back in contention just before the D Buchanan made easy pickings of B McGivern.
The Higgins team captain and star man Stormin’ Norman then put Higgins ahead for the first time in the match... But Tarpot couldn’t end his run of 4 defeats in two weeks to secure the points.
Mullholland’s B 5 Bus Bar 3
Mullholland’s challenged on all fronts last year and shouldn’t be too far away this season either.
R Jardine saw them make the perfect start. Tam Barney’s are yet to scrape a point yet this year but J Lyttle and D Mulligan did their best to help.
Mullholland’s were resurgent after going behind and won three on the trot through S Wilson P Winter and M Jardine.
Anglers Rest 4 Castle Bar B 4
Draws seemed a popular result this week and the Anglers v the Castle didn’t disappoint either.
Either could have felt they could have won, with the home side going 2-0 up through M Cosgrove and C McAvoy, then the away team going 3-2 up through R Harper R Fitzpatrick and C Corbet.
P Doyle equalised to level the match.
Market Bar B 4 O’Reillys 4
O’Reillys battled hard to earn their first points of the season. The Market B should be kicking themselves after being 2 frames to the good twice in the match only to lose both doubles.
