Maxine on form as new side show plenty of promise

After losing narrowly to Valley Fourths on Wednesday, Bann Thirds again showed their promise against Kingsway Thirds.

As this new squad entered their second game of the week against an established Kingsway side, they knew they had one of the hardest games of the season.

Bann started strong applying pressure of each of their own players. The Kingsway’s side were equally as determined and forced the play was back and forward to the shooting circle and centre half.

New player to the club Maxine Williamson had some great interceptions in the Kingsway circle and continued to force errors on the strong side. Bann used this to their advantage and worked in down the court and converted.

Kingsway were very fast paced and once the ball entered Kingsway shooting circle they was very little Bann’s duo could do to stop Kingsway’s skilled shooters.

It was a great match with lots of lovely play from the newly formed squad. A promising season is surely ahead.

Final whistle Bann 26-50 Kingsway.

Player of the match - Maxine Williamson.
