Quad Racing Ireland were vindicated in their decision to press ahead with the promotion of the fifth round of the Ulster Quadcross/Sidcarcross/U23 & Veterans Championships at their picturesque Tinker Hill circuit.
Track conditions were perfect, with the sun breaking through the clouds.
Race 1 went to Jason Meara on the AMR Honda 250F, the Loughbrickland 16 year old hunting down Jason Garrett on the AJ Plumbing KTM 350F and pasing him on the last lap, third was Larne’s Michael McCammond on the 450F Honda, Jasons older brother John retired with a puncture.
Race 2 was a win for John Meara on the TMC Honda 450F followed home by younger brother Jason after a coming together with Jason Garrett left the Comber man in fourth, and very angry, third was McCammond.
Race 3 was another impressive win for Meara Senior, with a hard charging Garrett second, and Jason Meara third, fourth again was McCammond, his Championship hopes fading, but not gone with one round to go.
Also in action on the day were the Premier Quads and once again, they proved to be the most exciting racing was won by Navan man Cian Rodgers after a titanic battle with Mark McLernon, with Championship leader Justin Reid from finishing third after a race long fight with David Cowan from Banbridge.
Race 2 saw a gate to flag win by David Cowan with Cian Rodgers making a mistake on the last lap after pressurising the reigning champion all race long.
