WITH the summer season of shooting drawing to a close, interest was still high among the shooters, with the club fielding a total of ten lines over the night.
Conditions were mixed, with pleasant weather breaking into heavy rain, making for unpredictable targets in tricky weather.
Despite the good attendance on the night, there was to be only one 20/60 score, coming from the ever-present Geoff Dale. Geoff rarely misses Thursday nights at Rathfriland, and he was to be named as winner once again, shooting the only straight of the night on the opening line.
Despite close efforts from the likes of Raymond Graham, Aaron McDowell, John Kernaghan and Noel Carson, Geoff was not to be denied, and took away the top spot.
The final 20/60 of the summer will take place this Thursday, 23 August, and shooters are encouraged to attend to finish the season on a high. Shooting commences from 6pm as normal.
