Gareth Matthews wins the Open Stableford with total of 43 points

Gareth Matthews (11) shot a superb 43 points in the Thursday Open Stableford at Banbridge Golf Club and he won it by four points.

Gareth played the 18 holes in 4 over par 73 gross, yet another nett 62.

This was a brilliant round from a very talented young player.

Rory McMullan (12), a member of the juvenile Fred Daly team, was runner-up with an excellent total of 39 points.

Callum Barnes (8), also a member of the Fred Daly team, took third prize with 39 points.

Ashton Clydesdale (22), Richard Coburn (12) and Shane Rooney (9) all came close with 38 points each.

The Thursday Opens will hopefully become very popular.
