Before that victory over Holywood, Banbridge Seconds smashed their way past Antrim Seconds at Gilford Leisure Centre.

The match started strongly with both the defence and attacking players showing great determination to win the ball.

In her first match of the season, Lindsay Baird showed fantastic promise, creating great space on the court and making some brilliant interceptions.

During the second half, Elaine Connery and Rachel Ryan showed good tactical play by switching their respective players to overcome a significant GS / GK height difference. This resulted in some good steals which were converted by the shooting circle.

At half time, Courtney Morris moved in to GS and Cherie Hamilton into WD.

The game started to get a bit rougher but the Bann girls pulled together with some great shooting and some lovely play up the court by Chloe Finnegan, Helen Monaghan and Melissa Whan.

In the end, Bann cruised to their 43 - 17 victory.

Player of the match went to Chloe Finnegan.

BANBRIDGE: GK - Elaine Connery (c), GD - Rachel Ryan, WD - Lindsay Baird, C - Chloe Finnegan, WA - Melissa Whan, GA - Helen Monaghan, GS - Paula McBride. Subs: Cherie Hamilton, Courtney Morris.
