Banbridge Athletics Club’s Alistair Wright cruised to second place at the recent Firmus Energy Super Six.

At the Mary Peters track in Belfast, Alistair joined over 150 young athletics stars to take part in a variety of activities.

And he showed that he is no ordinary competitor, striding his way to a second placed finish in the Mini Boys’ 60 metre hurdles.

Organised by Lagan Valley Athletics Club and supported by Firmus Energy, the next Super Six event will take place on Thursday 18 June from 6.30pm.

There will be no activities for the ‘minis’ category in this particular meet but it will include relay races and hurdles as well as the javelin, shot put and long jump for older age groups.

The Firmus Energy Super Six is open to people of all abilities, including those who want to come out and try the sport for the first time right through to serious competitors. For more information, please visit www.laganvalleyac.co.uk where participants can now pre-register for the next event which is open to those born after 31 August 2002.
