Geoff is on target at Rathfriland

SHOOTING at Rathfriland resumed recently on Thursday July 22 after a short break with shooting across the water taking centre stage.

The break at Rathfriland had done nothing but whet the appetite of the shooters with a total of 12 lines shot over the night.

However, after the lines, only two shooters could manage to shoot the 20/60 straight. These were Geoff Dale who continues to impress since his recent triumph at the Home Internationals, and junior shooter Mark Henning who has come through the ranks in recent weeks with some impressive shooting.

The pair shot off, however it was the experience of Geoff Dale which saw him take the win.

The battle for third place was fought between Derek McAdam, Raymond Graham, George Gracey and Neville Ferguson and in the end Gracey and Ferguson could not be separated, finishing third equal.

Final results were as follows: 1st, Geoff Dale; 2nd, Mark Henning; 3rd= George Gracey and Neville Ferguson.

Shooting continues at Rathfriland on Thursday July 29 with the action beginning at 5pm sharp. All shooters will be made welcome, with 20 bird competition on offer.
